Yuki Laboratory, The University of Electro-Communications

History of Laboratory

This laboratory was originally established in 1978 by Prof. Haruo Ishikawa as a laboratory in the Chair of Machine Elements in the Department of Mechanical Engineering and had investigated on strength of gears and composite materials, etc. The laboratory belonged to the Chair of Robotic Engineering in the Department of Mechanical and Control Engineering from 1988 to 1999, the Chair of Production Systems in the Department of Mechanical Engineering and Intelligent Systems from 1999 to 2010, and the Mechanical Systems Program in the Department of Mechanical Engineering and Intelligent Systems from 2010 to 2016, respectively. From April of 2016, the laboratory belongs to the Department of Mechanical and Intelligent Systems Engineering / the Mechanical Systems Program in the Cluster III (Fundamental Science and Engineering) of the School of Informatics and Engineering. Several researchers and a technician, Mr. Kyoichi Murakami, Prof. Pengfei He, Prof. Wenqing Wang, Prof. Yoon-Eui Nahm, and Prof. Masato Inoue, had worked as laboratory staffs. Currently, the laboratory promotes studies on non-destructive evaluation and computer assisted instruction systems for machine design and drawing under the direction of Prof. Hironobu Yuki.
